General and rather imprecise designation for a wine in the context of a wine address, which presents itself with an unclean, unpleasant overall picture. This is often referred to as "foreign taste" (smell, tone, aroma), although this is not to be understood as "unknown", but that the smell/taste "does not belong to the wine". Various bacteria, fungi or other microorganisms can be responsible for this. Thus, it can be different wine faults. See also under microbiological and healthy.
