The family winery is located on a hill between the communities of Talheim and Flein in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. The two families, Kurz and Wagner, have been growing grapes for many generations. The farm was founded in 1964 as a mixed business at that time. Sybille and Otto Kurz introduced bottled wine marketing and gradually expanded the vineyard area. After his training as a viticulture technician in Weinsberg in 1999 and years of practice in the Rheingau, the business has been run by son Oliver Kurz and wife Anja since 2012

The vineyards cover 14.5 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyard sites Stiftsberg (Heilbronn) and Schloßberg (Talheim). One third of the vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Scheurebe and Gewürztraminer, and two thirds with the red wine varieties Schwarzriesling, Pinot Noir, Samtrot, Lemberger, Trollinger, Acolon, Cabernet Dorsa, Cabernet Mitos and Merlot. The vineyards are cultivated by hand with the quality criteria of short pruning in winter, cover crop, targeted defoliation and thinning out to reduce yields in summer. Only estate wines are produced from the estate's own vines after selective manual harvesting. Burgundy wines are a speciality of the estate. The red wines are generally macerated and mature in large wooden barrels or in barriques, depending on the type of wine. Fine brandies (pomace, wine), liqueurs and bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced
