Semsakrebsler

A derogatory Swabian dialect term for a wine that tastes (too) good acid tasting wine that was pressed from ornamental v ines (house wall vines). In the Baden dialect this is called "Simsekrebsler". Both names derive from Sims (horizontal wall projection) and "krebseln" (referring to the vines creeping or climbing up the wall of the house). In Swabian: A Semsakrebsler isch en Wein, der vo' a d'r Hauswand em Spalier g'zogene Rebe' gekeldered wird. See other names for such or similar wines under sour wine.
