Seeberg

Riede (site) in the west of the municipality of Zöbing (cadastral municipality of Langenlois) in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kamptal. The name goes back to a mountain with a pond. It lies at 225 to 327 metres above sea level with a slope of up to 33 degrees and faces south-southwest. Climatically, it is influenced by the cool Waldviertel with hot days and cool nights. The soils consist of sand and loam with slate incisions reaching just to the surface. Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are cultivated here. The wineries Ehn Ludwig, Groll Wolfgang, Hager Matthias, Hager Oskar, Leindl (formerly Burgi Eder), Loimer Fred and Summerer, for example, have shares in the vineyard.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
