The winery is located in the municipality of Dürnstein in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wachau. With the takeover of the winery in 1984, a long-standing winegrowing tradition was continued that can be traced back to 1711. The cellar facilities were rebuilt between 1993 and 1995. The winery is managed by Johann Schwarz. The vineyards cover 3.5 hectares in the Frauengärten, Grund, Loibenberg, Loibner Sätzen and Schreiberberg vineyards. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (over 50%), Riesling and Chardonnay. The grapes are processed gently. After hand harvesting, no pumps are used until pressing. The must is fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The winery is a member of the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus winegrowers' association. The in-house distillery also produces fine brandies (Glöger, apricot, marc), as well as Winzertrüffel, a confection made of dark chocolate and Wachau apricot brandy.
