The winery is located in the municipality of Thüngersheim (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of Franconia. The former mixed agricultural business was founded by Gregor and Barbara Schwab and was completely converted to viticulture by Gregor and Barbara Schwab in 1974. Guest rooms have been rented out since 2006. Thomas Schwab and his son Martin are responsible for the vineyard and cellar. Andrea Schwab looks after the guests and advises on wine purchases.

The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Johannisberg (in the Rothlauf district ) and Scharlachberg. They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner,Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Scheurebe, Müller-Thurgau, Bacchus and Solaris, as well as the red wine variety Pinot Noir. The environmentally friendly cultivation is carried out using sustainable methods - including the promotion of biodiversity (variety of species). The quality criteria include careful pruning, intensive soil and foliage care, consistent yield reduction and manual harvesting.
