The winery is located in the municipality of Herxheim am Berg (Mittelhaardt/Deutsche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. The owners are Annetrud and Wilhelm Franke. The vineyards cover 11 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Himmelreich and Honigsack (Herxheim), Saumagen (Kallstadt), Herrgottsacker (Dirmstein), as well as Musikantenbuckel (Freinsheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Silvaner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Auxerrois and Scheurebe, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir, Dornfelder and Portugieser.

Natural viticulture with organic fertilisation is practised. Only healthy grapes are vinified through selective hand-picking, often in several rounds. Most of the wines are matured in cooled stainless steel tanks, special types also mature in barrique. In the past, the wines were sold exclusively through the family-owned Neuhof estate tavern near Frankfurt. Since a division of the estate, they are now marketed themselves. In years with suitable weather conditions, Trockenbeerenauslese and ice wines are also produced. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced.
