Producer description of "Weingut Schreibeis - Keller am Gaisberg"
The winery "Weingut Schreibeis - Keller am Gaisberg" is located in Straß im Straßertal in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kamptal. The winery is run by Ing. Eduard and Renate Schreibeis. The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vineyards in the Blickenweg and Gaisberg vineyards, for example. 80% of the vineyards are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Welschriesling, Muskat-Ottonel and Weißburgunder, and 20% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt and Blauer Portugieser. The white wines are matured in steel tanks, the red wines in large wooden barrels or in barriques. The premium wines include various Rieslings and Grüner Veltliner Kamptal DAC or Kamptal DAC Reserve. In years with suitable weather conditions, Prädikat wines are also produced. Grape juice, red wine vinegar and noble brandies are also produced.
