Schoenenbourg

One of the Alsace (Haut-Rhin) sites classified as Grand Cru within the Alsace Grand Cru appellation. The vineyards on marl-sand soil cover 53 hectares of vines at an altitude of 270 to 380 metres in the communes of Riquewihr and Zellenberg. They are mainly planted with Riesling, Muscat Blanc and Pinot Gris. The climatic conditions are ideal for noble sweet wines (Sélection de Grains Nobles). Well-known producers are Baumann & Fils, Domaine Bott-Geyl, Marcel Deiss, Dopff & Iron, Domaine Dopff au Moulin, Hugel et Fils, Mittnacht-Klack, René Schmidt and Daniel Wiederhirn.
