The winery is located in the municipality of Pommern (Terrassenmosel area) in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. The winery, which is rich in tradition, is run by the eleventh generation of the family, Kilian Moritz and his mother Hildegard Moritz. The vineyards cover almost ten hectares of vineyards in the single vineyard sites Goldberg, Rosenberg, Sonnenuhr and Zeisel (Pommern), Kapellenberg (Treis), and Brauneberg (Klotten). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Rivaner, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Merlot. The Rosenberg site is home to ungrafted Rieslings dating back to 1860, which according to a Geisenheim study conducted in 2007 are among the oldest vines in Europe. The grapes are always harvested, pressed and vinified separately. Likewise, old Müller-Thurgau vines dating back to 1932 exist in the Zeisel vineyard. The Beste-Lagen-Rieslings are among the premium wines. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced, as well as noble brandies (pomace, yeast, fruit) with a distilling right that has existed since 1833. The winery is a member of the associations Köche & Winzer der Terrassenmosel and Generation Riesling.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
