The winery is located in the municipality of Gamlitz-Sernau in the Austrian wine-growing region of Southern Styria. The former mixed agricultural enterprise has specialized in viticulture and the production of fine brandies. It is managed in the third family generation by Matthias Schnabl. A "Buschenschank" and guest room operation is connected. The white wine varieties Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Muskateller, Sauvignon Blanc, Morillon (Chardonnay) and Müller-Thurgau, as well as the only red wine variety Zweigelt are cultivated. In the vineyard, special emphasis is placed on targeted quantity reduction, cultivation that is as gentle on beneficial organisms as possible, preservation of the soil structure and selective grape harvesting to ensure ripe and healthy grapes. The wines are traditionally vinified in the "Styrian style" with a fruity finish. The flagship of the house is the Burgundy "Fossil", aged in large wooden barrels. Bottle-fermented sparkling wine is also produced. The noble brandies include more than 20 different distillates from grapes, fruit, marc and wine.
