The winery is located in the municipality of Mettenheim (Nierstein area) in the German wine-growing region of Rheinhessen. Daniel Schmitt has been running the winery since 2009 after studying in Geisenheim and completing internships in New Zealand and South Africa. The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyard sites Geyersberg (Bechtheim), as well as Goldberg, Michelsberg and Schlossberg (Mettenheim). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Silvaner, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Scheurebe and Huxelrebe, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Cabernet Dorsa. In the cellar, the non-invasive principle of "as little as possible - as much as necessary" applies. The main tasks are to observe, control and taste. The winery is a member of the Generation Riesling association.
