Schloss Grohl

single vineyard in the municipality of Durbach (Ortenau area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. The core area lies in the eastern part of the historic Plauelrain site, with another small part separated from it as an enclave within the Kochberg site. The vineyard, which faces south to southwest, as well as in a small parcel to the southeast, is 220 to 250 metres above sea level with a slope of 30 to 60% and covers five hectares of vineyards. The soil consists of granite weathering with sandy fine soil and medium skeletal content. Here, mainly Klingelberger (Riesling) and Sauvignon Blanc are cultivated. The site is solely owned by the Gräflich Wolff Metternich'sches Weingut wine estate.
