Schemelsberg

single vineyard in the municipality of Weinsberg (Württembergisch Unterland area) in the German wine-growing region of Württemberg. It was first mentioned in documents as early as the 14th century. The name is derived from the striking and widely visible stepped terrain profile. The vineyards, most of which are oriented from west to south, are 280 metres above sea level with a slope of 30 to 60% and cover 14 hectares of vineyards on gypsum keuper and reed sandstone soils. The site is solely owned by the Weinsberg State W inery.
