The brand wine (also Shamakhy) is named after the city of the same name (Şamaxı) in Azerbaijan. It is made from the autochthonous grape varieties Matrasa (Madrasa) and Shirvanshahy. The sweet, dark-coloured red wine with a high alcohol content has pronounced aromas of raspberries and chocolate.
The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
