The winery is located in the municipality of Andau in the Burgenland wine-growing region of Neusiedlersee (Austria). It was founded in 1986 by Ökonomierat Johann Scheiblhofer (Big John), who converted the farm to viticulture as his main occupation. It was taken over by his son Erich Scheiblhofer in 2000 after practical experience in Australia and California). The farm is one of the Austrian pioneers in the field of sustainability and stands out for its energy self-sufficient wine production. Among other things, this is made possible by the photovoltaic system installed on the roofs of the company buildings. The Scheiblhofer Winery's "Hall of Legends" with its huge sound and lighting system serves as an exclusive event hall for business events and company celebrations. Guest rooms are also available for rent. On the Andreasberg in Andau there is an officially classified mountain vineyard as well as an educational wine trail with all of Austria's grape varieties. A lookout tower offers distant views to the Schneeberg and deep into Hungary.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
