Sauvignon Nepis

The white grape variety (breeding no. UD-55.098) is an interspecific new variety between Sauvignon Blanc x Bianca. It contains genes from Vitis amurensis, Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in Italy in 2002 by grower Simone Diego Castellarin, Guido Cipriani and Gabriele Di Gasparo. The same parents also produced the Sauvignon Rytos variety.

The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
