Sauvignon Gryn

The white grape variety (breeding no. WE 69-630-13) is a new breeding between Sauvignon Blanc x Riesling. Incidentally, the same parents also produced the two varieties Sauvignon Cita and Sauvignon Sary. The cross was made in 1969 at the Staatliche Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt Weinsberg in Württemberg. The variety protection was granted in 2013. The late-ripening vine is resistant to botrytis. It produces fruity white wines that correspond to the characteristics of the parent varieties and are also suitable for sweet wines. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
