DOC area for red wines, rosé wines and white wines in the Italian region of Apulia. The zone covers 200 hectares of vineyards in the municipalities of Apricena, Lucera, Poggio Imperiale, Lesina, San Paolo di Civitate, San Severo and Torremaggiorea in the province of Foggia. The Bianco (also as Frizzante and Spumante) is blended from Bombino B ianco (40-60%), Trebbiano Bianco (40-60%), as well as other varieties (max. 15%). Rosso (also as Novello and Riserva) and Rosato (also as Frizzante) are blended from Montepulciano (max. 70%) Sangiovese (max. 30%), as well as other varieties (max. 15%). The single-varietal wines must contain 85% of the respective variety. The white wines are Bombino Bianco (also as Frizzante and Spumante), Malvasia Bianca di Candia, Falanghina and Trebbiano Bianco. The red wines are Merlot, Sangiovese and Uva di Troia = Nero di Troia (also as Riserva). The three red wines are also available as Rosato.
