The Spanish cooperative winery is located in the town of Almendralejo (Badajoz province) in the DO Ribera del Guadiana in the Extremadura region. It was founded in 1980 by 12 winegrowers and now has 17 members. In 1998, the winery was modernised with the latest oenological technology. The storage capacity is nine million litres. The winegrowers have control over the vinification process. The vineyards cover 1,000 hectares of vineyards in the Tierra de Barros subzone. Of these, 60% are planted with mainly white wine varieties Cayetana, Pardina, Macabeo and Montua (Chelva), and 40% with mainly red wine varieties Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnacha. The vinification is done in the traditional way, partly also in barrique. The annual production is around 4.5 million litres. Of this, 150,000 litres are produced under the DO Ribera del Guadiana with the designation "Talmo" in red, white and rosé. The vast majority of the rest is produced as Vino de mesa (table wine).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
