Samalens

The Armagnac House "Armagnac Samalens S.A." in Laujuzan (Gers) was founded in 1882 by Jean Samalens. The are produced in the qualities VSOP with seven to eight years maturation, Napoleon (10 to 12 years), Rare (over 11 years) and Reserve Imperial XO (10 to 15 years). Very special products are the brands Crystal Relique, Relique d'Age Inconnu (15 to 20 years), Vieille Relique and Relique Ancestrale (with 25% of the exceptional vintage 1891) assembled from very old distillates. The absolute crowning glory is Relique du Siecle 100 Ans, which was assembled in 1957 and has been resting in glass vessels ever since. The distillate recently used is over 100 years old.
