IGT area (land wines) for white, red and rosé wines in the Italian region of Sicily. It covers 24 hectares of vineyards on the Aeolian Islands in the province of Messina. Grape varieties authorised in the region may be used. Varietal wines must contain at least 85% of the variety in question, up to 15% may be other varieties. Dual varietal wines must be blended from 50 to 85% of the main grape variety, plus 15 to 50% of other grape varieties. For the wines, a minimum alcohol content is prescribed for each wine type, but no ageing periods.
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
