The appellation Languedoc Saint-Saturnin is located in the centre of the French wine growing region Languedoc. It was classified as AOC in 2010 and belongs to the second quality category "Grands Vins du Languedoc". The south-facing vineyards cover 730 hectares of vineyards at an altitude of 200 to 400 metres above sea level on limestone soils at the foothills of the Lazarc plateau. They cover the four communes of Arboras, Jonquières, Saint-Guiraud and Saint-Saturnin de Lucian in the department of Hérault. Red wine and rosé are blended from at least 2 of the 3 main grape varieties Grenache Noir(Garnacha Tinta), Mourvèdre(Monastrell) and Syrah, as well as Carignan Noir(Mazuelo) and Cinsaut.
