Saint Remigius

The winery is located in the municipality of Merdingen (Tuniberg area) in the German Baden wine region. It was founded in 1988 by Edgar Bärmann and Conrad Isele. The vineyards cover eight hectares in the individual locations Bühl (Merdingen), Rotgrund (Niederrimsing) and Schlossberg (Achkarren). They are planted with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir (about 50% of the total area) and Merlot, as well as the white wine varieties Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Müller-Thurgau, Riesling, Muscat, Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc. A natural, environmentally friendly cultivation is practised

The grape material is processed gently after selective manual harvesting. The wines are vinified according to their location and vintage. The red wines mature after the mash fermentation in traditional wooden barrels or in barriques. After careful pressing, the predominantly dry white wines are subjected to a complete fermentation. Premium wines include the red wines Spätburgunder Remigius and Spätburgunder Auslese, as well as the white wines Riesling Niederrimsinger Rotgrund and Chardonnay Achkarrer Schlossberg. We also produce rosé wines and white autumns, a Blanc de noirs, bottle-fermented sparkling wines and various taster brandies. From one and a half hectares, many fine brandies made from pome and stone fruit are produced in our own distillery.
