Saint-Andéol

Independent municipal area with the four municipalities of Bourg-Saint-Andéol, Saint-Just-d'Ardèche, Saint-Marcel-d'Ardèche and Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche in the Département Ardèche in the southern French appellation Côtes du Rhône-Villages. Since 2018, the name may also be mentioned on the label, although this only applies to the red wines. Viticulture here dates back to the Romans. The vineyards lie on the right bank of the Rhône on sandy alluvial soils with inclusions of clay, limestone and pebbles. The climate is characterised by the cool mistral that blows through the river valley.
