The white grape variety (also Weinsberg S 385, WE S 385) is a new variety between Ruländer(Pinot Gris) x Riesling. The crossbreeding was carried out in 1955 by August Herold (1902-1973) at the Weinsberg State Teaching and Research Institute in Württemberg. The name is derived from the initial and final syllable of the parents. Plant variety protection was granted in 1985. The late maturing vine produces a strong white wine. There are only very few stocks; however, in 2010 no stock was declared (Kym Anderson).
