The red grape variety (also Ruby of Golodryga) is an interspecific new variety between Rubinovy Magaracha x Magarach 6-68-27(Ravat Blanc x Asian pollen). It contains genes of Vitis amurensis and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in Yalta, Ukraine in 1974 by the breeders P. Golodriga, M. Kostik and V. Yurchenko. The medium ripening vine is generally resistant to diseases and extremely frost resistant to minus 26 °Celsius. It produces dark red wines, which are used for different wine styles. In 2010, 82 hectares were designated in Russia (statistics Kym Anderson).
