The red grape variety is a new breed between Sumoll x Cabernet Sauvignon. It was crossed in 1972 at the CSIRO Plant Industry Institute in Merbein-Australia by Alan Antcliff, Peter Clingeleffer and George Kerridge. The variety produces harmonious red wines. Incidentally, the two new varieties Cienna and Tyrian were created with the same parents. In 2016, one hectare was designated in Australia (statistics Kym Anderson).

I have great respect for the scope and quality of the wein.plus encyclopaedia. It is a unique place to go for crisp, sound information on terms from the world of wine.
