Independent municipal area in the Département Drôme in the southern French appellation Côtes du Rhône-Villages (see AOC regulations there). Since 1969 the municipality has been allowed to use the name on the label. Viticulture has been known here at least since the 15th century, even then a qualitative distinction was made between different types of soil(terroir). The vineyards cover 60 hectares of vineyards on gravelly sandstone on the stony slopes of the Lance Mountains. Red, rosé and white wines are produced. A well-known producer is Domaine La Bouvaude.
I have great respect for the scope and quality of the wein.plus encyclopaedia. It is a unique place to go for crisp, sound information on terms from the world of wine.
