The white grape variety comes from Austria. Synonyms are Heunisch Rotgestreift and Pekasore. It is a colour mutation of the variety White Heunisch (Gouais Blanc). The name derives from the red-green striped berries, which is called Panachure in the technical language. The reddish-berry wine grape is no longer of commercial importance in viticulture; in 2016, no stocks were reported (statistics Kym Anderson). See also a list of the different varieties of the Heunisch group under Gouais Blanc.
