Rojal Tinta

The red grape variety originates from Spain. Synonyms are De Rosa, Rojal and Royal. The parentage is unknown. Direct descendants are the two varieties Danugue and Planta Nova. The vine must not be confused with the Jami Negro variety (with synonym Royal Tinta). It is cultivated in the region of La Mancha. In 2016, 736 hectares of vines were reported, with a strong downward trend (Kym Anderson statistics).
