Römerberg (single vineyard Germany)

Popular single-vineyard designation in Germany. It probably refers in most cases to viticulture as far back as the "Roman times" at the beginning of the era. In addition to the one listed in detail below, there is a Römerberg in the municipalities/cultivation areas of Alsheim, Alzey, Badenheim (Rheinhessen), Bingerbrück (Nahe), Burgen (Mosel), Dorn-Dürkheim, Engelstadt, Essenheim (Rheinhessen), Gutenberg, Merxheim, Münster (Nahe), Nehren, Nennig (Mosel), Oberheimbach (Middle Rhine), Oberbillig, Riol (Mosel), Rheinbrohl (Middle Rhine), Senheim (Mosel), Waldböckelheim and Weiler (Nahe).

Municipality of Badenweiler (Markgräflerland area) in the Baden wine-growing region: The vineyards, which are mainly south-facing and at the edge west-facing, are up to 370 metres above sea level with a slope of 10 to 50% and cover 12 hectares of vineyards on calcareous, loamy sandy soil. Among others, the varieties Riesling and Spätburgunder are cultivated here. Shares are held, for example, by the Blankenhorn and Dörflinger wineries.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
