Riviera del Garda Bresciano

DOC area (also Garda Bresciano) for red wines, rosé wines and white wines in the Italian region of Lombardy The zone covers almost the entire western shore of Lake Garda in the province of Brescia with the 30 municipalities of Bedizzole, Capovalle, Calvagese della Riviera, Desenzano del Garda, Gardone Riviera, Gargnano, Gavardo, Idro, Limone sul Garda, Lonato, Manerba del Garda, Moniga del Garda, Muscoline, Padenghe sul Garda, Polpenazze del Garda, Pozzolengo, Provaglio Val Sabbia, Puegnago sul Garda, Roè Volciano, Sabbio Chiese, Salò, San Felice del Benaco, Sirmione, Soiano del Lago, Tignale, Toscolano Maderno, Tremosine, Treviso Bresciano, Villanuova sul Clisi and Vobarno.

Rosso (also known as Novello) and Chiaretto are blended from Groppello Gentile and Groppello di Mocasina (30-60%), Sangiovese (10-25%), Barbera (10-20%), Berzemino = Marzemino (5-30%), and other authorised varieties (max. 10%). The Bianco is made from 80% Riesling Italico(Welschriesling) and/or Riesling Renano(Riesling), as well as max. 20% of other approved varieties. The red wine Groppello is made from at least 85% Groppello Gentile and Groppello di Mocasina. The Spumante Rosato or Spumante Rosé is produced in the same way as the Rosso.
