The winery is located in the municipality of Dernau in the German Ahr wine region. It was founded in 1957 by Reinhold Riske. Since 1996 it has been managed by his son Bernd Riske and his wife Michaela Riske-Bach. The vineyards cover 2.6 hectares of vineyards in the locations Goldkaul, Hardtberg, Klosterberg, Pfarrwingert and Schieferlay (Dernau), Karlskopf (Bachem), Rosenberg (Marienthal), as well as Schieferlay and Sonnenberg (Bad Neuenahr). They are planted with the varieties Spätburgunder (70%), Dornfelder (15%), Frühburgunder (5%), Blauer Portugieser (5%) and Riesling (5%). Through the aging in new and old oak barrels, the wines acquire different flavours. In suitable years an ice wine is also pressed. Grape juices, noble brandies (yeast, wine) and bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced.

There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
