The white grape variety (also known as New York 98) is an interspecific new variety between Winchell x Moore's Diamond. The Ontario variety originated from the same parents. It contains genes from Vitis labrusca and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in 1912 at the Vine Breeding Institute of Cornell University in Geneva in the US state of New York. No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
