Rios do Minho

IGP area (local wine) in the province of Minho in northern Portugal. It is identical in area to the DOC area Vinho Verde. Dié mainly produced mostly light white wines are characterized by freshness and piquant acidity. They are produced from the varieties Alvarinho, Arinto, Avesso, Azal Branco, Batoca, Borraçal, Chardonnay, Loureiro, Rabo de Ovelha, Riesling and Trajadura. The red wines are made from Azal Tinto(Amaral), Brancelhão(Alvarelhão), Cabernet Sauvignon, Espadeiro, Merlot, Padeiro, Pedral and Vinhão.
