The white grape variety is a new breed between Veltliner x Riesling (or vice versa). It must not be confused with Rieslaner or Rieslina, and was crossed in the 1930s at the Klosterneuburger Weinbauinstitut in Austria. However, the variety did not become generally accepted. In the vine museum of the Leth Franz Winery (Fels, Lower Austria) there are a few vines. In 2016, no stocks were recorded (statistics Kym Anderson).
