Name for the special Schlegel bottle with dark blue-green glass used in the German Rheingau. The bottle shape, which was already in use at the end of the 19th century, was revitalised by the Rheingau Winegrowers' Association in the 1990s in order to enhance the Rheingau wine brand. It is highly recognisable thanks to the embossed vertical edges on the neck of the bottle and a bead as a drip rim at the end of the bottle neck (arrow). See also under Bottles and Wine Vessels.

Bottle types/bottle shapes: 1 = Club bottle, 2 = Burgundy bottle, 3 = Schlegel bottle, 4 = Bocksbeutel bottle, 5 = sparkling wine bottle(champagne bottle, sparkling wine bottle), 6 = Bordeaux bottle
