The winery is located in the municipality of Lamberg-Wies in the Austrian wine-growing region of Western Styria. The estate house, situated on a hill overlooking the Koralpe, dates back to the 17th century. It is run by Christian Reiterer, who, after attending the viticultural school in Silberberg and training at the University of Montpellier, he produced his first wine in 1991. The vineyards cover 55 hectares of vines in the Engelweingarten, Lamberg and Riemerberg vineyards. They are mainly planted with the leading variety Blauer Wildbacher, as well as smaller quantities of the white wine varieties Sauvignon Blanc, Muskateller and Pinot Blanc. The vineyards are cultivated in a natural, environmentally friendly manner with rigorous quantity reduction. Christian Reiterer is considered a specialist for Blauer Wildbacher, from which different qualities of Schilcher, as well as Frizzante and sparkling wine are produced, separated according to vineyard.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
