The winery is located in the municipality of Angelbachtal-Michelfeld (Kraichgau area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. There is documentary evidence of viticulture in the Hoensbroech family dating back to 1388. In 1968, four hectares of vineyards were acquired in Baden, which were continuously expanded. The current winery was built in 1978. It is owned by Adrian Graf von Hoensbroech. The vineyards cover 15 hectares of vines in the solely owned single vineyard Himmelberg (Michelfeld). They are planted with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Limberger and Schwarzriesling, as well as the white wine varieties Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Traminer, Chardonnay and Auxerrois. The physiologically ripe grapes are selectively harvested by hand. Vinification is carried out according to the old Roman rule "Vinum sub sole, ut crescit sincerum" (Pure wine, as grown under the sun). All technical measures that lead to a change in the natural taste of the grapes are consistently rejected. The wines are vinified purely from the grape variety. The winery is a founding member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates).

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
