The white grape variety originates from Switzerland. Two synonyms are Gelbhölzer and Blauer Räuschling, which confusingly refer to the variety Blauer Gelbhölzer (also with synonym Blauer Räuschling). According to DNA analyses, it is a color mutation of the White Räuschling variety with reddish berries. The vine is nearly extinct; no stocks were reported under this name in 2016 either (Kym Anderson statistics).
