The grape variety is a colour mutation of Müller-Thurgau. It was found in 1978 by winemaker Christoph Süßle from Merdingen in the German growing region of Baden. From 2005 onwards, a variety trial was carried out in the field and subsequently an application for variety protection was filed in 2014. The early ripening, vigorous vine has loose grapes with hard-skinned berries and a light muscat tone. Compared to the original variety, it is characterised by low susceptibility to botrytis and coulure. In 2016, no stocks were reported under this name (Kym Anderson).
