The white grape variety with reddish berry colour is an interspecific new variety between Kawakami No. 1 x Ezeréves Magyarország Emléke (Millennium Grape). Genes from Vitis labrusca, Vitis lincecumii and Vitis vinifera are included. The hybrid was crossed in Japan at the Iwanohara Winery by the breeder Zernbei Kawakami. The variety is used as a wine grape and table grape. It is grown in Niigata Prefecture on the main Japanese island of Honshū. In 2016, just under two hectares of vineyard area were designated (Kym Anderson statistics).
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
