French term (abbreviation RC) for a co-operative winegrower in the Champagne region who delivers the grapes from his harvest to his co-operative, which usually supplies him with Champagne ready for sale and then markets it. It can also be the case that it is left on the lees and is still to be disgorged and dosed. The protected term does not exist outside of Champagne.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
