Rastignier

The red grape variety comes from Austria. Synonyms are Frühe Meraner, Lang's Frühtraube, Lang'sche Frühtraube, Précoce de Lang, Rastignier Grape and Uva Nera. The parentage (parenthood) is unknown. It is a very old, historical grape variety, which is also included in the work "Ampélographie, Traité général de viticulture" published in 1910 by the two ampelographers Victor Vermorel (1848-1927) and Pierre Viala (1859-1936). The variety is no longer of viticultural importance; in 2016 no stocks were recorded (Statistics Kym Anderson).
