Ranac Bijeli

The white grape variety comes from Croatia; the name means "early white". Synonyms are Ranac Silbijanski Bijeli and Silbijanac Bijeli. The early ripening vine with extremely sweet berries produces full-bodied white wines. It is cultivated in small quantities on the islands of Pag and Silba in the northern Adriatic. The endangered variety is part of a revitalization project of autochthonous Croatian grape varieties.
