Quigat

The white grape variety comes from Spain. Synonyms are Cagat, Masacamps, Massa Camps, Massacamps and Massecamp. According to DNA analyses carried out in 2018, it comes from a presumably natural cross between the leading variety Hebén x unknown partner. However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see molecular genetics). The variety is cultivated in small quantities on the Balearic Islands (Mallorca) and is part of a vine reactivation programme. However, no stocks were reported in 2016 (statistics Kym Anderson).
