Pro Riesling

The association "Pro Riesling e. V." for the promotion of the culture of Riesling in Germany was founded in 1985 with its headquarters in Trier in the Mosel growing region. The special features of German Riesling wines and sparkling wines are highlighted through various measures such as an annual Riesling symposium, Riesling tastings, a series of publications and various documentations. Every two years, a Riesling promotion prize is awarded to the wine trade, gastronomy, sommeliers and journalists. Together with the magazine Vinum, the Riesling Producer Prize is also awarded. Several hundred German wineries from all growing regions take part, and their wines are tasted blind by juries.
