The winery "Bodegas Primicia" is located in Laguardia in the Spanish Rioja sub-region Rioja Alavesa. It was founded by Julián Madrid. Today it is owned by the families of the founding sons Madrid Castañeda. In 1985, a new winery was built outside the town. The vineyards cover 45 hectares and are mainly planted with the classic Rioja varieties Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon. There are 5,500 barrique barrels, mostly made of French oak, available for ageing. There are, for example, the wine brands Curium, Diezmo, Julián Madrid and Viña Carravalseca (single vineyard). Around 60% of the production is exported.
