Primary aroma

Designation (also grape-inherent or grape-borne aroma) for the aroma substances contained in the grapes. Depending on the grape variety, there are varietal aromas. Certain aroma substances are only developed during fermentation(secondary arom a) as well as maturation of the wine (tertiary aroma). See also typicity.
